Step 1: Double cleanse
“In the evening I always double cleanse. First with a gentle milk or oil cleanse to break down makeup, SPF, oil, dirt and pollution. For my second cleanse, I use something a little more active with AHAs to dissolve any cellular debris and really deep clean the pores.”
Grant uses: Biologique Recherche Lait EV, $95 at Skin Care Edit and Royal Fern Phytoactive Cleansing Balm, $143 at Skin Care Edit
Step 2: Exfoliate
“Most evenings, I use an exfoliating lotion or essence to dissolve any build-up and dead skin. This step also ensures better penetration of my serums, oils and hydrators. I apply the solution on a cotton round and gently sweep over my face, neck and décolletage.”
Grant uses: Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 PIGM 400, $190 at Skin Care Edit and Vintner’s Daughter Active Treatment Essence
Step 3: Corrective Serum
“I’m a firm believer in the corrective and regenerative properties of a retinol, and apply a retinol serum each night over my face, neck and décolletage, as well as the back of my hands.”
Grant uses: Try U Beauty Resurfacing Compound, $209
Step 4: Eye care
“For my eyes I like a rich eye cream, sometimes layered over an eye serum. This step keeps the fine, delicate skin around my eyes nourished, firm and supple, and plumps out any fine lines.”
Grant uses: Royal Fern Phytoactive Anti-Ageing Eye Cream, $275 at Skin Care Edit
Step 5: Moisturise
“To finish I apply a night cream. This is also a great time to give yourself a massage to promote blood flow, release tension and shift stagnant lymph. I use a gua sha tool and work from my neck and shoulders, upwards over my face. I also love to stretch my neck after my massage.”
Grant uses: Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, $405
