Avocado Oil
A rich, non-fragrant fruit oil that replenishes moisture and nourishes dry, sensitive or mature skin.
Persea gratissima oil, avocado fruit oil
Dry & dehydrated skin · Sensitive skin · Ageing skin · Barrier support
What it does
Not just a pantry staple, avocado oil boasts an array of benefits for the complexion. This non-fragrant plant oil replenishes moisture, smooths and nourishes for supple, hydrated skin. Unlike most plant oils, it is pressed from the fruit’s flesh rather than its seed.
How it works
A rich ingredient full of benefits for dry and dull skin, avocado oil contains oleic acid, plant sterols and antioxidants, including vitamin E and carotenoids. Gentle and soothing, avocado oil can be used on most skin types but is best suited to dry and sensitive skin. It is often found combined with other ingredients in common skincare formulations, thanks to its emollient properties which make it a wonderful carrier oil.
MG says
Avocado oil is one of the richer oils to reach for when skin is dry or dehydrated. It is one of the nourishing oils in Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, which I consider best in class for complexions that need intensive nourishment and barrier support, particularly compromised or mature skin.
Cautions
Avocado oil is rich, so skin prone to congestion may prefer it in a cleanser or on drier areas only. Patch test if your skin is reactive.
