    What it does

Milk proteins are generally gentle on sensitive skin and provide comforting hydration to dry skin. Derived from dairy, and often used in hydrolysed form, milk proteins such as casein and whey are nourishing and conditioning.

    How it works

Milk proteins can hold an impressive amount of water, and form a light film on the skin's surface that helps it hold on to hydration. The end result is smoother skin and better texture.

    MG says

Milk proteins feature in some of Biologique Recherche's gentlest formulas: Colostrum VG for parched, weather-stressed skin and long-haul travel, and the Biosensible range for reactive complexions.

    Cautions

Milk proteins are usually well tolerated, but reactions do occur, so if you have a milk allergy check the label and patch test first.
