WWD's Hikmat Mohammed reported the opening of Melanie Grant's second U.S. studio, The Studio Upstairs, on the second floor of Violet Grey's The Madison Store at 78th Street and Madison Avenue. The piece covers her partnership with Violet Grey founder Cassandra Grey, a soft launch in May with clients booked in before the Met Gala, and Grant's decision to drop plans for three treatment rooms in the 1,075-square-foot space in favour of one large, open-plan room set up like a living room.
WWD notes that her treatments typically run an hour and a half to two hours, beginning with a skin consultation and an in-depth tutorial on the products and technology used, and that she counts clients such as Victoria Beckham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as friends. "Grant enlisted help from the Paris-based interiors company Pierre Augustine Rose for the space’s lush furnishings," Mohammed writes.
