High-Concentration Hyaluronic Acid Treatment
The Biologique Recherche Second Skin Treatment is a 60-minute regenerating facial built around hyaluronic acid. It is designed to visibly lift and fill the skin by working on the extracellular matrix, the support structure that keeps skin plump and smooth.
People book it when lines and wrinkles have deepened, or when their skin has lost some of its fullness. It is also a good choice for areas where the skin has been damaged. What sets it apart is the concentration of hyaluronic acid, which is far higher than you would find in everyday skincare.
Who it suits
This suits you if you want skin that looks plumper and smoother, with softer lines. It is especially useful if parts of your face look more damaged or depleted than others and need focused attention.
Your therapist will assess your skin before the treatment and talk through where you would like to see change. That helps them decide how to use the treatment on your skin.
What happens in the room
The centre of the treatment is a set of five electrospun patches. Here is what makes them different.
- Concentration. Each patch contains 80% hyaluronic acid of medical origin. That is forty times more than you would typically find in traditional skincare formulations.
- Molecular weight. The hyaluronic acid has a very low molecular weight. This lets it penetrate effectively and supports a deeply regenerating action.
- Collagen and elastin. Once absorbed, it helps stimulate the skin's own production of collagen and elastin, both important for keeping skin resilient.
The session runs for 60 minutes, with the patches placed on the areas that need them most.
Results and aftercare
Because the treatment works in two ways, filling with hyaluronic acid and supporting the skin's own collagen and elastin, the effect is both immediate and lasting. Lines and wrinkles should look less deep. The skin should feel plumper and look smoother.
Your therapist can advise you on how to look after your skin afterwards, and how this treatment might sit alongside others in your plan.
Good to know
Second Skin can also help improve the look of recent scars, but only once they are fully healed. If this is what you are booking for, you will need your surgeon's or doctor's agreement first. Mention it when you book so your therapist can plan around it. It is a simple step that makes sure the treatment is right for your skin at that point in its healing.
