The Dermamelan Depigmentation Treatment
Dermamelan, an intensive depigmentation treatment for melasma, sun damage and stubborn pigmentation, with in-clinic peel and home-care regimen.

Hyperpigmentation is one of the most common concerns we see. It shows up as brown patches, marks or uneven areas across the face, neck and décolleté, and it looks different on everyone. Dermamelan is an intensive depigmentation peel designed for pigmentation that is pronounced or severe.
People book it when pigmentation has become the thing they notice first. It is especially relevant for hormonal pigment, which tends to resist one-size-fits-all approaches and can even be made worse by certain laser treatments.
Who it suits
Pigmentation has several causes: too much sun, hormonal changes, inflammation and injury to the skin. Hormonally driven pigment, known as melasma or chloasma, is notoriously hard to shift. Many clients see a visible improvement with targeted depigmentation peels instead of laser.
These peels can suit all skin types, including darker complexions, after assessment. Dermamelan is for those with significantly pronounced or severe pigmentation. For milder pigment, its gentler counterpart, Cosmelan, may be the better fit. Your therapist assesses your skin first, and which peel suits you is confirmed at consultation.
What happens in the room
Dermamelan is a modified, more intensive peel with a 30% increase in strength compared to Cosmelan. The treatment has two parts:
- In-clinic application. Your therapist applies the peel at the studio.
- Home care regimen. You continue with a dedicated home care programme afterwards, which is part of the treatment rather than an optional extra.
Some downtime is to be expected. We will plan the timing of your treatment with you so it fits around your diary.
Results and aftercare
The aim is to address uneven melanin, brighten and unify skin tone, and noticeably improve texture. Overall skin quality tends to look better too, not just the darker patches.
Following the home care regimen closely matters as much as the in-clinic step. Your therapist will explain exactly what to use and when.
Good to know
Pigmentation, and melasma in particular, can return. That is why daily sun protection and a maintenance plan are part of the treatment from the start. Think of Dermamelan as the intensive phase of a longer approach, not a one-off fix.
If you aren't sure whether your pigmentation calls for Dermamelan or Cosmelan, book a consultation first. Your therapist can look at the type and depth of your pigment and recommend the right starting point.
