The PicoWay Treatment
PicoWay picosecond laser for pigmentation, sun spots, acne scarring and fine lines, with little heat. From £750 in Mayfair. Also in Sydney.

PicoWay is a laser that works in very short bursts of energy, measured in picoseconds. A picosecond is one trillionth of a second. That speed lets it target specific concerns gently while limiting heat in the surrounding skin.
That low heat is the reason many people choose it. Some deeper skin tones can be prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with traditional lasers. Because PicoWay generates very little heat, it can be a suitable option for many of them.
Who it suits
PicoWay can help improve the look of a wide range of concerns, including:
- Acne scarring and stretch marks
- Enlarged pores
- Sun spots, freckles and hyperpigmentation
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Various blemishes
It also suits people who simply want a brighter skin tone and a finer, more even texture.
This is a clinical treatment. Your therapist assesses your skin first, and suitability is confirmed at consultation.
What happens in the room
Your therapist starts by looking at your skin and talking through what you want to change. Based on that assessment, they may recommend a test patch before a full treatment. This is a sensible step, particularly if you have not had laser before.
The laser then delivers its picosecond pulses to the areas being treated. PicoWay works across all three layers of the skin, from pigment near the surface down to laxity deep in the dermis. That is why it can address such different concerns in one approach.
In the lower layers, the laser gently heats the tissue. This activates the body's own regenerative processes and prompts the skin to make new collagen and elastin.
Results and aftercare
Results build as your skin responds. Near the surface, pigment and imperfections look visibly smoother and more even. Deeper down, the new collagen and elastin help support the skin's structure, volume and elasticity. Over time that adds up to a brighter, more even and more resilient-looking complexion.
Your therapist will give you aftercare guidance after your session and explain what to expect as your skin responds.
Good to know
Ask about a test patch when you book, especially if you have a deeper skin tone or have reacted to laser in the past. Your therapist may recommend one after assessing your skin.
If you are unsure whether PicoWay is right for your concern, start with a consultation. Your therapist can tell you whether it is the best fit or whether another treatment would suit you better.
