The Sublative Resurfacing Treatment is one of our most requested treatments. It is designed to improve the look of significant surface unevenness, particularly acne scarring, enlarged pores and deeper-set wrinkles.
People book it when the texture of their skin is what bothers them most. Skincare and facials can only do so much for marks and lines that sit deeper. This treatment works below the surface to encourage the skin to renew itself.
Who it suits
It suits you if your main concern is texture rather than colour. That usually means one or more of:
- acne scarring
- distended pores
- deeper-set wrinkles
Everyone's skin is different, so we start with a consultation with one of our advanced dermal therapists. They assess your skin, talk through your concerns and put together a considered, personalised treatment plan. Suitability for Sublative is confirmed at that consultation.
What happens in the room
The treatment uses customised fractionated radiofrequency to heat the skin precisely. That heat does two things. It causes a targeted contraction in the connective tissue within the dermis, and it ablates the deeper layers of the epidermis.
In plain terms, the treatment creates a controlled response in the skin. That response sets off the skin's own healing process, prompting the cells to communicate and regenerate. The skin then lays down new collagen in the treated areas. Your therapist customises the radiofrequency for your skin and the areas you want to address.
Results and aftercare
As new collagen forms, the skin is remodelled and resurfaced. The aim is a surface that looks smoother, finer and plumper, with scarring, pores and lines visibly softened.
Some clients see a visible change after a single session. Others benefit from more. Depending on what your skin needs, your therapist may recommend supplementary sessions to help you reach the best outcome. They will also explain how to care for your skin after each treatment so it can recover well.
Good to know
The consultation is the most important step. It is where your therapist decides whether Sublative is the right treatment for your skin and how many sessions are likely to make sense. Bring your questions and be clear about what you want to change. The more your therapist understands about your goals, the more useful the plan will be.
Because the treatment works by prompting the skin to rebuild, results develop as that process unfolds, not just on the day.
