The IPL Photo Facial is a non-invasive clinical treatment for skin that has seen too much sun. It pairs Intense Pulsed Light with targeted radiofrequency in one 60-minute session. The aim is simple: a more even tone, a finer texture, and less visible sun damage.
Most people book it because their skin looks uneven in a way that makeup only hides. Brown marks, patches of redness and a dull, mottled surface tend to show up together after years outdoors. This treatment goes after those irregularities directly, and pairs the light work with our own clinical care so the skin is looked after from start to finish.
Who it suits
This is for you if your main concern is the look of sun damage. That might mean scattered pigment, visible redness, or skin that has lost its clarity and feels less firm than it used to.
It is a clinical treatment, so it is not booked blind. Your therapist assesses your skin first, and suitability is confirmed at consultation. That conversation is where you talk through your history, what you want to change, and whether IPL is the right tool for it.
What happens in the room
The session runs for around 60 minutes and combines two kinds of energy, each with its own job.
- Intense Pulsed Light. Light is used to target vascular and pigment irregularities deep within the dermal matrix. This is the part that works on redness and brown marks.
- Targeted radiofrequency. Alongside the light, radiofrequency helps support skin density and resilience over the longer term.
- Clinical care. The light therapy is paired with our signature clinical care, so the treatment is shaped around your skin rather than run as a fixed routine.
Because it is non-invasive, nothing breaks the surface of the skin. Your therapist adjusts the treatment to what they found when they assessed you.
Results and aftercare
The goal is clearer skin. Pigment and redness should look less obvious, the tone more uniform, and the texture more refined. Over time the radiofrequency element helps the skin feel firmer and more resilient, which adds to the overall effect.
People often describe the finish as a glass-like luminosity: skin that looks even and catches the light well. How much you see, and how quickly, depends on your skin and what you started with. Your therapist will give you aftercare advice suited to you before you leave.
Good to know
Since this treatment is about the look of sun damage, protecting your skin from the sun afterwards matters. It is worth raising your sun habits at consultation so your therapist can plan around them. If you are unsure whether IPL or another clinical treatment is the better fit, that is exactly what the consultation is for.
